ลักษณะ ๒ ศีลกำลัง
 
๘๗๙ ศีลกำลังเป็นศีลที่ประทับตรา และโดยศีลนี้ผู้รับศีลล้างบาป ซึ่งเริ่มดำเนินชีวิตคริสตชน ก็เปี่ยมด้วยพระคุณของพระจิตเจ้า และผูกผันกับพระศาสนจักรครบครันยิ่งขึ้น ศีลนี้ทำให้ผู้รับเข้มแข็งและผูกมัดยิ่งขึ้นให้เป็นพยานถึงพระคริสต์ ด้วย

Can. 879 The sacrament of confirmation confers a character. By it the baptised continue their path of chaistian initiation. They are enriched with the gift of the Holy Spirit, and are more closely linked to the Church.

They are made strong and more firmly obliged by word and deed to witness to Christ and to spread and defend the faith.
