สาส์นอวยพรของพระสมณทูต
พระสิริรุ่งโรจน์แด่พระเจ้าในสวรรค์สูงสุด และบนแผ่นดิน สันติสุขจงมีแก่มนุษย์ที่พระองค์โปรดปราน
คริสต์มาสเป็นเทศกาลแห่งความยินดีและสุขสันติ ทั่วทุกหนแห่งผู้คนต่างแลกเปลี่ยนความปรารถนาดีเพื่อส่งความสุขและมอบสันติสุขให้กับผู้เป็นที่รักและเพื่อนๆ ทั้งไกลและใกล้ ในฐานะศิษย์ ของพระคริสตเจ้าเราต่างผูกพันกันในการส่งมอบสันติสุขในจิตใจซึ่งองค์พระเยซูเจ้าทรงนำมาสู่โลกโดยการรับอวตารของพระองค์ สันติสุขและความชื่นชมยินดีนี้มิได้จำกัดอยู่เฉพาะเ ราเท่านั้น แต่ยังแผ่ไปยังทุกคนที่เปิดใจต้อนรับข่าวสารแห่งการบังเกิดของพระเยซูเจ้าด้วย ครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่าที่เหล่าเทวดาแห่งสวรรค์ได้กล่าวย้ำคำทักทายที่ว่า พระสิริรุ่งโรจน์แด่พระเจ้าในสวรรค์สูงสุด และบนแผ่นดิน สันติสุขจงมีแก่มนุษย์ที่พระองค์โปรดปราน (ลก 2:14)
เมื่อพระกุมารเยซูทรงบังเกิด ดวงดาวสุกใสสว่างปรากฏเหนือเมืองเบธเลเฮ็ม ในตัวชนบทใกล้ๆ นั้น มีเหล่าชุมพาบาลค
อยเฝ้าดูแลฝูงแกะที่กำลังหลับในยามค่ำคืน ทูตสวรรค์องค์หนึ่งของพระเจ้าปรากฏองค์ต่อหน้าพวกเขา และพระสิริของพระเจ้าก็ส่องแสงรอบตัวเขา คนเลี้ยงแกะมีความกลัวอย่างยิ่ง แต่ทูตสวรรค์กล่าวแก่เขาว่า อย่ากลัวเลย เพราะเรานำข่าวดีมาบอกท่านทั้งหลาย เป็นข่าวดีที่จะทำให้ประชาชนทุกคนยินดีอย่างยิ่ง วันนี้ในเมืองของกษัตริย์ดาวิด พระผู้ไถ่ประสูติเพื่อท่านแล้ว พระองค์คือพระคริสต์ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ท่านจะรู้จักพระองค์ได้จากเครื่องหมายเหล่านี้
ท่านจะพบกุมารมีผ้าพันกายนอนอยู่ในรางหญ้า ทันใดนั้น ทูตสวรรค์อีกจำนวนมากปรากฏมาสมทบกับทูตสวรรค์องค์นั้น ร้องสรรเสริญพระเจ้าว่า พระสิริรุ่งโรจน์จงมีแด่พระเจ้าในสวรรค์สูงสุด และบนแผ่นดิน สันติสุขจงมีแก่มนุษย์ที่พระองค์โปรดปราน (ลก 2:9-14) ขณะที่กำลังเขียนสาส์นนี้ ข้าพเจ้าเห็นบัตรอวยพรที่มีรูปคอกเลี้ยงสัตว์คริสต์มาสในแบบเนเปิลส์ ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ที่โถงกลางในสถานเอกอัครสมณทูตวาติกัน กรุงเทพฯ พระคริสตสมภพเป็นเทศกาลแห่ง
ความยินดีและสุขสันติจากพระกุมารเยซูเพื่อเราทุกคน ข้าพเจ้าจึงปรารถนาที่จะแลกเปลี่ยนความสุขสันตินี้กับท่านทั้งหลาย พระคริสตสมภพย้ำเตือนเราเสมอว่าพระเป็นเจ้าทรงรักเรามาก ขอให้เราสำนึกในพระกรุณาของพระเจ้าที่มีต่อเรา และให้เราได้มอบความรักของพระเจ้านี้แก่ผู้อื่นด้วยทุกๆ ปี อุดมสาร ได้เปิดโอกาสให้ข้าพเจ้าได้อวยพรท่านทั้งหลาย ทั้งผู้อ่านและผู้มีพระคุณต่อหนังสือพิมพ์ อุดมสาร นี้
ในโอกาสพระคริสตสมภพนี้ ขอมอบความปรารถนาดีและขออวยพรทุกๆ ท่านและครอบครัว ขอเจ้าชายแห่งสันติสุขประทา
นความสว่างแก่ดวงใจและชีวิตของท่าน และโอกาสใกล้สิ้นปี 2008 ช่วงเวลาของการเริ่มต้นใหม่ ข้าพเจ้าขอมอบความปรารถนาดีด้วยจริงใจให้ทุกท่านมีความสุขและความรุ่งเรืองในปีใหม่นี้ และอีกครั้งหนึ่ง สุขสันต์วันคริสต์มาส

Gloria in Excelsis Deo et in Terra Pax Hominibus Bonae Voluntatis
Christmas is a season of joy and peace: you see everywhere people exchanging good wishes for happiness and peace among loved ones and friends both far and near. As disciples of the Lord, we
engage one another in communicating the inner peace that Jesus has brought to this world by His Incarnation. This peace and joy are not confined to us only but is shared with everyone who with an open heart receives the message of the birth of Jesus. Again and again Angels from heaven repeat the greetings: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace for those he favours. (Lk. 2:14).
When the Child Jesus was born, a shining star appeared over Bethlehem. In the countryside close by there were shepherds out in the fields keeping guard over their sheep during the watches of the
night. An Angel of the Lord stood over them and the glory of the Lord shone round them. They were terrified, but the Angel said, Do not be afraid. Look, I bring you news of great joy, a joy to be
shared by the whole people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. And here is a sign for you. You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And all at once with the Angel there was a great throng of the hosts of heaven, praising God and with the words: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace for those he favours (Lk. 2:9-14).
While I write these few lines I have in front of me the card with the image taken from the artistic Neapolitan Christmas Crib placed at the main hall of the Apostolic Nunciature in Bangkok.
Christmas is for every one a season of joy and peace which radiates from the Child Jesus: I would like to exchange this peace with you. Christmas always reminds us how much we are loved by God: let us
be grateful for this generosity of God towards us and extend the love of God to others too. Every year Udomsarn gives me this great opportunity to greet you, the readers and benefactors of this weekly newspaper. On this graceful occasion of Christmas my sincere warm greetings and
blessings come to you and to your family. May the Prince of Peace brighten your heart and your way. As
we come close to the end of the year 2008, being a moment of renewal, I cordially wish you also a happy and prosperous New Year! To every one once again, I wish a Blessed and a Happy Christmas!
