ลักษณะ ๒ พิธีกรรมประจำชั่วโมง

Can.1173 The Church, fulfilling the priestly function of Christ, celebrates the liturgy of the hours, whereby hearing God speaking to His people and memorializing the mystery of salvation, the Church praises Him in song and prayer without interruption and intercedes for the salvation of the whole world.

Can.1174 $1. Clerics are obliged to perform the liturgy of the hours according to the norm of can.276, $2, n.3; members of institutes of consecrated life and societies of apostolic life are bound according to the norm of their constitutions.

$2. Other members of the Christian faithful according to circumstances are also earnestly invited to participate in the liturgy of the hours inasmuch as it is the action of the Church.

Can.1175 In performing the liturgy of the hours the true time of each hour is to be observed as much as possible.

มาตรา ๑๑๗๓ ในการทำหน้าที่สงฆ์ของพระคริสต์ พระศาสนจักรเฉลิมฉลองพิธีกรรมประจำชั่วโมง ในการเฉลิมฉลองนี้ พระศาสนจักรฟังพระเจ้าตรัสกับประชากรของพระองค์ และทำการระลึกถึงรหัสธรรมแห่งความรอด โดยวิธีนี้ พระศาสนจักรสรรเสริญพระเจ้าโดยไม่หยุดหย่อน ด้วยบทเพลงและการอธิษฐานภาวนา พร้อมทั้งวิงวอนพระองค์  เพื่อความรอดของโลกทั้งมวล

มาตรา ๑๑๗๔ วรรค ๑ บรรดาสมณะมีพันธะต้องประกอบพิธีกรรมประจำชั่วโมง ตามกฎเกณฑ์ของมาตรา ๒๗๖ วรรค ๒ ข้อ ๓ ส่วนสมาชิกสถาบันชีวิตที่ถวายแล้ว และสมาชิกของคณะชีวิตธรรมทูต มีพันธะตามกฎเกณฑ์ของธรรมนูญของตน

วรรค ๒ คริสตชนอื่นๆ ด้วย ตามสภาพแวดล้อมต่างๆ ได้รับการเชิญชวนอย่างแข็งขัน ให้ร่วมในพิธีกรรมประจำชั่วโมง ในฐานะที่เป็นกิจกรรมของพระศาสนจักร

มาตรา ๑๑๗๕ ในการประกอบพิธีกรรมประจำชั่วโมง ให้รักษาเวลาที่แท้จริงของแต่ละชั่วโมง เท่าที่จะทำได้
