ลักษณะ ๔ ศีลแห่งความสำนึกกลับใจ

Can. 959 In the sacrament of penance the faithful who confess their sins to a lawful minister, are sorry for their sins and have a purpose of amendment, receive from God, through the absolution given by that minister, forgiveness   of   sins   they     have committed after baptism, and at the same time they are reconciled with the Church, which by sinning they wounded.

๙๕๙ ในศีลแห่งการสำนึกกลับใจ สัตบุรุษ ซึ่งเป็นทุกข์เสียใจในบาปของตน พร้อมทั้งมีความตั้งใจจะแก้ไขตนเอง เมื่อสารภาพบาปของตนต่อศาสนบริกรที่ถูกต้องแล้ว เขาได้รับการอภัยบาปที่เขาได้ทำหลังรับศีลล้างบาปจากพระเจ้า โดยการยกบาปจากศาสนบริกรเดียวกัน พร้อมกันนั้น เขาได้คืนดีกับพระศาสนจักร ซึ่งได้รับผลเสียเพราะการกระทำบาปของเขา
