Can. 834 $1. The Church fulfills its office of sanctifying in a special way in the sacred liturgy, which is indeed the exercise of the priestly office of Jesus Christ; in it
through sensible signs the sanctification of humankind is signified and effected in a manner proper to each of the signs and the whole of the public worship of God is carried on by the mystical Body of
Jesus Christ, that is, by the Head and the member.
$2. This worship takes place when it is carried out in the name of the Church by persons lawfully deputed and through acts approved by the authority of the Church.
Can. 835 $1. The sanctifying office is exercised principally by Bishops, who are the high priests, the principal dispensers of the mysteries of God
and the moderators, promotors and guardians of the entire liturgical life in the Churches entrusted to their care.
$2. This office is also exercised by priests. They, too, share in the priesthood of Christ and, as his ministers under the authority of the Bishop, are consecrated to
celebrate divine worship and to sanctify the people.
$3. Deacons have a share in the celebration of divine worship in accordance with the provisions of law.
$4. The other members of Christs faithful have their own part in this sanctifying office, each in his or her own way actively sharing in liturgical celebrations,
particularly in the Eucharist. Parents have a special share in the office when they live their married lives in a Christian spirit and provide for the christian education of their childern.
Can. 836
Since christian worship, in which the common priesthood of Christs faithful is exercised, must proceed from and rest upon faith, sacred ministers are to strive diligently to arouse and enlighten this faith, especially by the ministry of the word by which faith is born and nourished.
Can. 837 $1. Liturgical actions are not private, but are celebrations of the
Church itself as the sacrament of unity, that is, the holy people united and ordered under the Bishops. Accordingly, they concern the whole body of the Church, making it
known and influencing it. They affect individual members of the Church in ways that vary according to orders, role and actual participation.
$2. Since liturgical actions by their very nature call for a community celebration, they are, as far as possible, to be celebrated in the presence of Christs faithful
and with their active participation.
Can. 838
$1. The ordering and guidance of the sacred liturgy depends solely upon the authority of the Church, namely, that of the Apostolic See and, as provided by law, that of the diocesan Bishop.
$2. It is the prerogative of the Apostolic See to regulate the sacred liturgy of
the universal Church, to publish liturgical books and review their vernacular translations, and to be watchful that liturgical regulations are everywhere faithfully observed.
$3. It pertains to Bishops Conferences to prepare vernacular translations of liturgical books, with appropriate adaptations as allowed by the books themselves and, with
the prior review of the Holy See, to publish these translations.
$4. Within the limits of his competence, it belongs to the diocesan Bishop to lay down in the Church entrusted to his care, liturgical regulations which are binding on
all.
Can. 839
$1. The Church carries out its sanctifying office by other means also, whether by prayer, in which it asks God to make Christs faithful holy in the truth, or by works of penance and of charity, which play a large part in establishing and strengthening in souls the Kingdom of Christ and contribute to the salvation of the world.

$2. Local Ordinaries are to ensure that the prayers and the pious and sacred practices of the christian people are
in full harmony with the laws of the Church.

วรรค ๔ บรรดาคริสชน ก็มีส่วนเฉพาะของตนในหน้าที่ทำให้ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ โดยร่วมพิธีกรรมอย่างมีบทบาท

๘๓๗ วรรค ๑ กิจการด้านพิธีกรรม มิใช่เป็นเรื่องส่วนบุคคล หากแต่เป็นการเฉลิม
ฉลองของพระศาสนจักรเอง ในฐานะที่เป็นเครื่องหมายของความเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกัน กล่าวคือ ประชากรศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่รวมกันและจัดเป็นระเบียบภายใต้การปกครองของพระสังฆราช ด้วยเหตุนี้
กิจการด้านพิธีกรรมจึงเป็นเรื่องเกี่ยวข้องกับร่างกายทั้งหมดของพระศาสนจักร ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นและก่อให้เกิดกายนั้น แต่กิจการด้านพิธีกรรมยังผลแก่สมาชิกแต่ละคนของพระ
ศาสนจักร ด้วยวิธีแตกต่างกันตามฐานันดร บทบาท และการมีส่วนร่วมอย่างจริงจังของแต่ละคน
วรรค ๒ เนื่องจากกิจการด้านพิธีกรรม โดยธรรมชาติของมันเองแล้ว เป็นการเฉลิมฉลองของชุมชน ดังนั้น ถ้าที่ใดทำได้ ให้เฉลิมฉลองโดยมีสัตบุรุษร่วม และร่วมอย่างมีบทบาท
๘๓๘ วรรค ๑ การควบคุมดูแลพิธีกรรมศักดิ์สิทธิ์นั้นขึ้นกับอำนาจพระศาสนจักรเท่านั้น กล่าวคือ อำนาจของสันตสำนัก และของสังฆราชสังฆมณฑล ตามกฎเกณฑ์ของกฎหมาย
วรรค ๒ เป็นหน้าที่ของสันตะสำนัก ต้องจัดระเบียบพิธีกรรมศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของพระศาสนจักรสากล จัดพิมพ์หนังสือพิธีกรรมพร้อมทั้งรับรองคำแปลที่เป็นภาษาท้องถิ่น
และสอดส่องให้มีการปฏิบัติตามระเบียบพิธีกรรมอย่างซื่อสัตย์ทุกแห่งหน
วรรค ๓ เป็นหน้าที่ของสภาพระสังฆราช ที่จะจัดแปล และพิมพ์หนังสือพิธีกรรมเป็นภาษาท้องถิ่น โดยประยุกต์ใช้อย่างเหมาะสม ตามที่กำหนดไว้ในหนังสือพิธีกรรมเอง
โดยได้รับการรับรองจากสันตสำนักก่อน
วรรค ๔ เป็นหน้าที่ของพระสังฆราชสังฆมณฑล ที่จะวางกฎเกณฑ์ด้านพิธีกรรม ภายในขอบเขตอำนาจของท่านในพระศาสนจักรที่ได้รับมอบหมายให้ดูแล ซึ่งทุกคนต้องปฏิบัติตาม
๘๓๙ วรรค ๑ พระศาสนจักรยังปฏิบัติหน้าที่ทำให้ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ด้วยวิธีอื่นๆ อีก กล่าวคือ ด้วยการภาวนาวิงวอนพระเจ้า
เพื่อให้คริสตชนเป็นคนศักดิ์สิทธิ์ในความจริง ด้วยการใช้โทษบาป และกิจเมตตาปราณีทั้งหลาย ซึ่งมีส่วนช่วยอย่างมาก ให้อาณาจักรของพระคริสต์หยั่งรากและเข้มแข็งในวิญญาณ และนำความรอดมาสู่โลก
วรรค ๒ บรรดาผู้ใหญ่ผู้มีอำนาจท้องถิ่น ต้องเอาใจใส่ให้การภาวนา และกิจศรัทธา และกิจการศักดิ์สิทธิ์ต่างๆ ของ คริสตชน สอดคล้องอย่างสมบูรณ์กับกฎเกณฑ์ของพระศาสนจักร
